User Information

User information must clearly state the intended use(s) of the apparatus. The information must be prominently displayed. Compliance with the essential requirements will be judged on the basis that the apparatus is used for its intended purpose.

The user information for terminal equipment for fixed networks must identify the public network interfaces for which the apparatus is suitable.

For radio equipment, the packaging and user instructions must identify the countries or geographical regions in which the apparatus may be used. Where restrictions apply, the "Alert Symbol" must be displayed on the marking on the equipment itself.

In all cases, a copy of the Declaration of Conformity should also be included with the user information. It is not clear if this needs to be the full declaration made by the manufacturer and translated into the local language. A simple statement of compliance with the Directive in the local language and a reference to the full signed declaration should generally be enough.
