The European Commission is expected to issue formal guidance on transition dates and interpretation of EN 301 893 following reports of 5 GHz WLAN
equipment causing interference to meteorological radars employing non-constant pulse interval times (staggered or inter-leaved PRFs) in the 5600-5650 MHz band. The important immediate considerations for mass
market products are ability to deal with staggered PRF or complete avoidance of the 5600 – 5650 MHz part of the band. Some technical background information is available from the IEEE 802 LAN/MAN Standards
Committee 802.18 - the Radio Regulatory TAG http://www.ieee802.org/18/Meeting_documents/2007_Sept/BRAN52d014_European_Weather_Radar_SIgn als_-_Details__Overview.pdf

The R&TTE Compliance Association has issued "Guidance on notified body opinion where harmonised standard not applied". This will help
manufacturers and suppliers deal with compliance of products, particularly innovative products, where harmonised standards are not yet available or cannot be applied in full because of the particular product
technology. http://www.rtteca.com/TGN11.pdf
The R&TTE Compliance Association has issued guidance on the minimum content of a notified body opinion. This will help manufacturers and
suppliers ensure that they are getting best advice from notified bodies under Annex IV of the R&TTE Directive. http://www.rtteca.com/TGN10.pdf
The specification of eirp for WAS/RLANs in the band 5,150-5,350 MHz has been rationalised to 10 mW/MHz in any 1 MHz band in an amendment to the

From 20 October 2005, certain Air Traffic Management equipment comes within the scope of the R&TTE Directive. This arises as a result of the
repeal of Council Directive 93/65/EEC which formed the basis of the exclusion set out in by Annex 1 item 6 of the R&TTE directive. More information and a guidance document is available from: http://europa.eu.int/comm/enterprise/rtte/aer_equip.htm
